Mahira Khan, born Mahira Hafeez Khan, on December 21, 1982, is a Pakistani film and tv actress who started her career as VJ. She has worked with MTV Pakistan and Aag TV as VJ before moving on to her acting career. Her first break in the film industry came in the critically acclaimed film Bol. She is most popular for her character Khirad Ihsan opposite Fawad Khan in Humsafar Drama.
Biography
Khan was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She received her primary education from Foundation Public School, Karachi, and went on to Santa Monica Community College in Los Angeles for higher education. She met with Ali Askari at Indus TV studios during her vacations and fell in love. They married in 2007 and have a son named "Azlaan".
She is also known by her nicknames of Maria, Mena and Mairu.
Career
Mahira first appeared in ARY Digital serial Neeyat alongside Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan and Deepti Gupta. Then she was hired to portray Khirad Ehsan in the TV serial drama Humsafar opposite Fawad Afzal Khan and Naveen Waqar. The drama was a major hit in Pakistan and she was praised for her performance by both critics and fans.
Since June 2012, Mahira started working in Shehr-e-Zaat opposite Mohib Mirza and Mikaal Zulfiqar which was launched as a prime time show on Hum TV. She received a lot of appreciation & recognition for her role of "Falak" in the serial and it made her one of the best actresses of Pakistani television. Shehr-e-Zaat ran successfully for two years with consistent good TRPs. She made a cameo appearance in Urdu 1 serial Coke Kahani.
Personal Life
Khan met Ali Askari at Indus TV studios during her vacations and fell in love. They married on 13 July 2007 in an Islamic wedding ceremony. They have two children: a daughter and a son.

MAHIRA KHAN ACTING CAREER It is correct to say ”Last but not least” Ghazanfar Ali changed her life who is the CEO of television network. He gave her chance in MTV as a VJ, at that time MTV was the new forthcoming Chanel. Ghazanfar Ali said to her “chance it”. Mahira said “I cannot do this….if by chance I fail?”Actually she was so confused but her future husband Ali Askari helped her in this matter and she agreed by saying that she would only do this till her vacations. Beautiful girl Mahira khan admitted that she really enjoyed this job because she had never done this job before. The new planned worked and she got great popularity. Ali Askari proposed her in the mid of her new job as a VJ on MTV. The 21 years old beautiful lady replied “yes”. Top model Mahira Khan said that her Father was not in a favor of this relationship according to him she is not doing well with herself. But she proved it was the right decision. After 12 months fashion model Mahira left MTV and joined Geo television. Then she did an amazing show in youth channel AAG. GEO TV gave her a chance her in “Pakistan Idol” and she thought that was a stimulating and unique opportunity. In the end I would like to say that Mahira khan is a shining star of Pakistan’s television industry and her present is safe and her future is quite bright.
